Insignia DTV Converter Picture Problems

Insignia Converter Box
If you own an Insignia converter box, you may experience brief picture and audio problems that can occur throughout the broadcast of a program you are watching.

Fracturing, pixelation, and/or freezing of the picture as well as loss of audio have been reported by users of the Insignia and other brands of converter boxes. The problem may occur frequently or infrequently.

According to the Insignia owners manual, this problem is caused by a weak or blocked digital signal. Terrain or tall buildings in your area could cause reception problems. Weather conditions may cause temporary reception problems as well.

In most cases a set-top antenna designed for digital reception will do the job (see the antenna information on this page). If you live far from the transmission towers, or are in an area that contains the obstructions listed above, you may benefit from a rooftop antenna or tower mounted antenna.

Further developments on this issue will be posted here.
